FinTech and ESG Alliance

Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) establishes the first FinTech and ESG Alliance to provide a communication platform for Hong Kong’s fintech and sustainable development stakeholders and explore cooperation opportunities.

Hong Kong’s Green and Sustainable Finance Cross-Agency Steering Group (CASG) has mentioned that it will strengthen green fintech application this year. Hong Kong also launched ESG One and Hong Kong Green Fintech Map.

Introduction to FinTech and ESG Alliance

The FinTech and ESG Alliance established by ASTRI will work with financial institutions and enterprises to support the integration of emerging financial technologies, promote the transition of traditional financial businesses, and improve operating efficiency. ASTRI will use artificial intelligence, deep learning, and other technologies to help financial institutions improve the efficiency of ESG data processing, reduce compliance costs, and meet regulatory requirements.

The missions of the FinTech and Sustainability Alliance are:

  • Promote knowledge transfer and technological innovation to consolidate Hong Kong’s status as an international innovation and technology center.
  • Promote the application and integration of emerging financial technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence to improve operating efficiency.
  • Create an efficient and flexible technology ecosystem to change the development and application of traditional technologies.
  • Leverage technology for digital transformation and integrate financial services with sustainable development.

The FinTech and ESG Alliance will regularly hold lectures, seminars, technology showcases and other activities to promote stakeholder connections and strengthen Hong Kong’s status as a international green finance center.
